Lead Free Soldering

Altek Electronics offers traditional tin-lead and lead-free soldering technology to support our customers in the Northeast and elsewhere who require the manufacture of either exempt or RoHS compliant circuit board assemblies.

Lead Free Wave Solder: Seho, a highly respected manufacturer of soldering solutions since 1973, manufactures our lead-free wave solder machine.  The Power Wave 8440 is ideally suited for the processing of lead-free solder alloys.  It provides the highest lead-free soldering quality due to modern solder nozzle geometries and a flexible preheat area.   

Selective Solder:  Altek’s “KISS 104” selective soldering machine allows us to perform precision tin-lead and lead-free soldering around heavily populated SMT and heat sensitive components.  The “KISS” machine delivers flux to specific points on the board and then selectively solders these points using an appropriately sized nozzle, thus creating consistent solder joints and minimizing the need for hand soldering and rework.  This equipment eliminates much of the time-consuming prep work such as taping and masking that is typically required when utilizing a wave solder machine.  By reducing set-up time, Altek Electronics is able to process many prototype pcbs in a highly efficient manner.
