Reducing Cost

At Altek, we know we can't raise our prices, so we have to find ways to lower internal costs in order to remain competitive.  One way we keep costs low is through 5 'S': Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize and Sustain.  We don’t want to spend time looking for tools; that is waste. The 5 ‘S’ concept forces everyone to realize that waste costs money.  In keeping with 5 ‘S’, employees use shadow boxes and other methods to store tools, and they are provided with brooms and other supplies to keep their work areas clean.  As our President, Rich Razza, always says, “We don’t have maid service here—it is up to everyone to maintain a clean and organized work environment.”  This saves time and reduces cost!
