CFM

Altek has a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.  The method we use to realize this philosophy in the factory is ‘Continuous Flow Manufacturing’, or CFM, which allows product to be assembled from start to finish on one line.  CFM promotes communication, team building, and constant focus on product quality through the entire assembly process.  Using this concept, products are transferred in the smallest batch size, ideally one piece.  This eliminates moving large batches of material through the manufacturing process and enables us to reduce our manufacturing cycle time by 75% allowing us to quickly react to meet the needs of our customers.  The risk of producing the same defect in large batches is greatly diminished with CFM.

Lean not only focuses on manufacturing flow, it affects every area in the organization.  The only way for true success is to eliminate waste starting from taking the customers’ order to shipping the product.
