Mistake-proofing techniques make it easy to build products the right way, and prohibit defects.  Mistake-proofing a manufacturing process does not have to cost major dollars.  By using simple fixtures, such as templates, go/no-go lights, visual checks, and our Digital Traveler, we can ensure that parts are placed in the right locations with the correct polarity.  One unique aspect of our Digital Traveler program is the "Thought of the Day".  Employees are reminded of specific manufacturing protocol, and must read and acknowledge this daily message before they can enter the assembly documentation system.  We involve our employees in the mistake-proofing process, because the operators who are performing the jobs have some of the best ideas.  Altek’s goal is to build quality into every step of the process.
