Open Communication

The visual factory Altek created eliminates barriers, promotes team-building, shows product flow, and promotes communication. In our visual factory, we use Takt board scheduling on each assembly line.  The word Takt basically means ‘authorization to build’.  We can’t hold our employees accountable to a goal if they don’t know what that goal is.   The Takt board provides them with their daily build schedule—this is their goal.  Our visual factory also includes signs and markers that identify walk patterns, emergency exits, and specific holding areas.  The Visual Factory is an integral part of continuous flow manufacturing.
